Create a CV that makes you stand out from the crowd
We know what you are thinking… with so many candidates and so many CV’s, how do I stand out from the crowd and get myself an interview for my dream job?
Make it brief
Grab hiring managers’ attention within the first third of your first page to have the greatest impact. Start with your contact details and personal profile, follow it with a skills section, and finish off with your relevant work history.
Make it specific
To stand out from the crowd tailor your personal profile to the job specification. When writing about your work history use facts and figures to highlight what you have achieved. These will be completely individual to you!
Make it attractive
To make your CV easier on the eye: use the same font and style throughout, ensure the majority is left aligned and avoid any distractions to the reader by reducing the amount of bold, italicised and underlined words.
Once you are happy with your CV, save it as a PDF. This keeps the formatting when it is emailed or uploaded and stops anyone accidentally altering or deleting sections of it.
