We are looking for a payroll and admin apprentice to join our team. The chosen candidate would spend most of their time gaining practical experience within our office, as a part of a small payroll team. The role would also include studying towards a business administration qualification, with training given from a local training provider. We are passionate about providing extensive, career-building training, to set employees up for a bright future, whether that be with us or elsewhere.  We are a close-knit team, who welcome any new employees warmly and help share our experience and knowledge with one another.  

Many of our apprentices are offered full time positions within our firm at the end of their apprenticeship, so there is a career opportunity available for those apprentices who prove themselves during their twelve-month contract. You can expect to make friends, learn in a relaxed, yet professional environment, have full exposure to many areas of a busy, expanding accountancy firm and kick start a life-long career. The ideal candidate should: be confident and welcoming on the telephone and dealing with clients in general, be organised, efficient and enthusiastic.  

Daily duties of the job role will include: entering payroll information supplied by each client into the payroll system; processing new employees and terminations; maintaining and updating payroll records; preparing payroll reports, payslips etc to send to clients; assisting with pension auto-enrolment and declarations to the pension regulator; answering the office phone; raising sales invoices; dealing with incoming and outgoing mail; aspects of practice compliance; have an active involvement in credit control. The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:45am until 5pm and Friday 8:45am until 3:45pm, with an hour given for lunch each day.
